It presents the initial results of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.oecd.org\/site\/piaac\/surveyofadultskills.htm\">Survey of Adult Skills (PIAAC)<\/a>, which evaluates the skills of adults in 24 conutries, including Italy.\u00a0It provides insights into the availability of some of the key skills and how they are used at work and at home. A major component is the direct assessment of key information-processing skills: literacy, numeracy and problem solving in the context of technology-rich environments.<\/p>\n<p>Chapter 5 of the report shows that reading and using ICT at work and in everyday life can significantly coontribute to <a href=\"http:\/\/skills.oecd.org\/documents\/SkillsOutlook_2013_Chapter5.pdf\">maintain and develop information-processing skills<\/a> (i.e., literacy and numeracy proficiency).<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oecd-berlin.de\/charts\/piaac?cr=oecd&amp;lg=en\" height=\"660\" width=\"720\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first\u00a0OECD Skills Outlook\u00a0has just been published.
